Drama

We believe a child’s imagination and creativity should be indulged and allowed to grow and expand, allowing all children a voice!

Drama promotes collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative innovation, and confidence which help to optimise children’s development and contribute to them being successful 21st century learners.

Children develop a sense of curiosity and empathy by exploring the diversity of drama in the contemporary world, discovering other times, traditions, places and cultures. Literacy skills are skillfully woven into drama, supporting speaking and listening, extending vocabulary and encouraging children to understand and express different points of view.

Our Drama programme promotes creative minds and ‘emotional intelligence;’ each important in developing a child’s whole personality and imagination. It is where creativity, ingenuity, and thinking outside the box begin for child development. Imagining, trying new ways of doing things, and experimenting help develop critical thinking in children and foster creative problem solving.

Our children are encouraged to actively participate in Performing Arts and have been the recipients of many Drama Shields from our schools inception. Our school drama, ‘In the Name of Saint Francis of Assisi,’ is a beautiful tribute to a truly humble man, whose example was that care for the environment goes hand in hand with reverence for all human beings.
